DEVANGELO - THE CURSED ONE

    Page 1
This begins a story of sadness and madness. Of love and hate. Of condemnation and redemption. He is not a hero he's a tragic figure.

Born of an angel mother and a demon father, doomed to live a life constantly torn in half by an abomination of nature.

His mother was Evangelista the cherub. Her joy was to bring lovers together. By day she walked the earth in human form. Although she was an angel, she had a mischievous side. She could not resist a well deserved prank. At night she is transformed into an angel with white feathery wings.

His father was Noman the demon. He was an anti-cherub. His task was to tear love asunder. By day he walked the earth in human form. Although he was a demon, he had a soft spot for small furry helpless animals. At night he transformed into a demon with leathery wings.

On the day of DevAngelo's birth, his delivery proved to be arduous.  As night approached, Noman paced. He was afraid he was about to transform. As he prepared an extraordinary excuse, a cry rang out to the heavens. It was Evangelista, she was transforming into an angel. The baby was crowning.

As Noman approached the bed, he too began to transform. As the baby's body emerged, it also transformed. And as it did he let out a cry that brought unbearable sadness upon all who could hear it. The room was reduced to wailing and sobbing. The cries of so much suffering were heard by the multitudes.

A cry went out and a hundred angels descended to earth. They arrived on the scene and though used to this sort of thing were momentarily taken aback by the child’s appearance but quickly returned to the task at hand. Several angels grabbed Evangelista and flew heavenward. An angel advanced on the newborn. As Noman tried to intervene an archangel appeared before him.
“Answer for yourself demon!" Noman thinking quickly responded,
"Are you going to let them all die?" and looked around the room.

Demons were upon all in the room, angels and doctors and nurses alike, ripping the flesh from their bones. As the archangel entered the fray, Noman crouched and with his wings tucked and his talons in attack position lunged at the angel trying to grab DevAngelo.

The demon deftly skewered the angel, picked up the baby and leaped out the window in one swift movement. As the archangel took three steps the demons disappeared. All that was left were angels ministering to the stricken. The archangel spun and looked around the room and seeing the window broken quickly followed in pursuit. Before Noman landed blithely on the sidewalk below, he already knew where he was going.
Years earlier he had made a bargain with a very powerful man.
